Hyperextensions always engage multiple muscle groups simultaneously, but technique adjustments genuinely shift relative emphasis.
- For greater glute and hamstring emphasis, use a hip-dominant technique, pad below the hip crease, descent initiated through the hips, controlled trunk position, hips actively driven into the pad on the ascent, glutes contracted hard near the top, finishing at neutral.
